Reading Camera Club had its final talk of the season on Friday evening. Given via Zoom by Terry Hewitt, the presentation was titled “Knowing Your Camera, Knowing How to Photograph”
Terry led us through all the various settings that can be changed on a camera, both when setting up the camera and when taking the picture. He uses a Sony model himself, and demonstrated the points he was making with a set-up that he had put together at home and showed on the Zoom presentation. He also described the Canon and Nikon equivalents-basically performing the same functions but (confusingly) often with different names – but the lessons apply to all makes of camera. The talk was very comprehensive and will give us more confidence to move away from Auto settings to use their cameras more creatively.
